It's Christmas Eve!

What are some fun things to do tonight?

Here's a few...

Santa Tracker on Google.
Aw, what a cute idea. You can see where Santa is in the world, and when he stops to unpack presents it'll show that too. You can send a message to your little ones from Santa by email, phone or Google+. There's even a couple games to play :)

Make cookies for Santa.
This cookie recipe sounds really, really good. Out of 37 ratings, it's a 5 star recipe. I'm sure Santa will love them, just don't forget the milk!

Read a book to the kiddos.
We always used to read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. What a cute little book :)

Make some awesome Christmas crafts.
Try some of these crafts, Christmas crackers, or even a snow globe!

Watch a Christmas movie.
Try The Polar Express, Home Alone, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer... All that good stuff. Most of these are on Netflix.

Play a game together.
Here are a few to get you started. (Click me!)

Merry Christmas :)

For that naked Barbie in your life.

Ok, so I'm sure you know of a little girl out there with a naked Barbie lying around in her closet. All girls have been there. Her friends come over and want to play Barbies, so she pulls out her barbie and realizes it's naked! As she frantically searches for some clothes, she remembers there's a box of her mom's with about a hundred outfits in it. She starts to dress her Barbie... and that's when you walk in and realize it looks hideous. So you tell yourself, "This kid's gonna be bullied her whole life if I don't make her a dress for her Barbie."

You have no idea how to sew. Here, just for you :)

Barbie Dress Tutorial :)

Alrighty fellas, let's get started.

Taking into account you have almost nothing to work with, you will need:
  • Some scrap fabric, at least 8x11 inches (this could be from an old shirt, it doesn't really matter)
  • Needle and thread or sewing machine
  • Velcro, buttons, or something to secure the back of the dress with (you could just make a belt but that doesn't hold the whole back of the dress together, only the waist)
  • Measuring tape (or ruler, whatever)
  • Ribbon or anything else you'd like to decorate the dress with :)

  1. Cut your fabric.
Place your scrap fabric flat on a table. Cut out 2 different pieces that have the following measurements:  5x2 inches    and     11x4.5 inches

     2. Hem the edges.

Use this video to help you :) Because if you're like me, you can't really sew. Hem around all the edges.

     3. Cut slits in the smaller piece...
...So that Barbie has a spot for her boobs lol :)

Cut along the dotted red line, using the measurements on the picture as a guide.

     4. Sew them back together.
Okay, so I hope this doesn't confuse you...
Put your fabric face-down on the table again. Measure 1/4 inch in from the bottom of Edge A and move Edge A to 'Edge B' position. Sew Edge B to (and on top of) Flap 2. Hem Edge B. Repeat this for the other slit. It should look like the fourth drawing on the top when you're done.

     4. Sew on that velcro/button!

If you're sewing on a button, make sure to hem the edges of the button hole. :) Awesome.

     5. Make the pleats.
Make as many pleats as you think you should. I made about 7 or 8 in mine :) Should measure 5 inches on top when you're done.

      6. Finish Sewing the dress together.

The right side is green, wrong side is purple.
Good side to good side, sew along the dotted red line. (look at the picture)

 And you're done!

This is what it should look like :)
